Priced right for a home fitness fan looking to sweat off some calories, the ProForm Pro C10U comes into the brand’s 2022 lineup of bikes iFit-enabled and loaded with solid features. Priced under $600 with a free month of the iFit app included, the upright exercise bike ProForm Pro C10U sets next to the Pro C10R in the brand’s offering, with the latter offering a more traditional, seated recumbent frame.

Relative to other upright exercise bikes we’ve reviewed for 2022, the Pro C10U comes in as a great budget-friendly bike with all the basics covered. Equipped with a 10-inch Smart HD Touchscreen, the unit comes with 30 days of the iFit app already on lock. The iFit program allows professional trainers in remote locations to control the machine’s resistance levels during workouts as diverse as one can imaging. The inertia-enhanced flywheel affords 25 levels of Silent Magnetic Resistance and pedals are adjustable with straps. Below are some pros and cons to consider.

The Great

  • Upright Frame: If knees or other joints are an issue, this design could be a help. Granted, this bike is an upright model, which means it does afford a little more step-up than its peers, but comfort is a plus with the ProForm Pro C10U.
  • Compact Size: At 21.2″ x 34.5″ x 58″, the C10U is equipped with transport wheels and moves easily about a room.
  • 10″ HD Smart Touchscreen: This is a nice size screen for a small bike like this and can bring iFit workouts to life without getting in the way like bigger models.
  • Bluetooth-ready: With dual 2″ Bluetooth speakers, the bike is headphone-compatible.
  • iFit Ready: The C10U comes with a 30-day membership plan which can be renewed at their discretion. iFit Family memberships typically cost $39 per month and bring live training classes, simulated outdoor training with Google Maps, automated data logging, and help with menu.
  • 25 Resistance Levels: The C10U features 25 digitally-controlled Silent Magnetic Resistance settings powered by an intertia-enhanced flywheel.
  • Extra-Wide Pedals: The foot pedals are extra-wide for comfort and have adjustable straps for stability.
  • Self-Adjusting Fan: The bike comes equipped with a fan for user comfort.
  • Water Bottle Holder: A water bottle holder is integrated with the bike frame.
  • Transport Wheels: Transport wheels are mounted to the frame so you can easily move the bike after workouts.
  • High Capacity: The C10U has a maximum user weight capacity of 325 pounds.
  • Good Warranty: The home warranty is good enough for the price point. It includes 10 years of coverage for the frame, 2 years for parts, and 1 year for labor.

The Not-So-Great

  • No built-in programs: The C10U comes iFit-ready and equipped with a 30-day subscription, but nothing pre-loaded. The bike can be used without the iFit program but the screen won’t work with other apps.

Who Should Use The ProForm Pro C10U Exercise Bike?

The Pro C10U is well-built with commercial grade steel and can hold up to 325 pounds at a bike-weight of only 77 pounds. It is best suited for those seeking a solid bike on a budget, and those not particularly interested in big screens or fancy entertainment packages. The bike will work without the iFit app which costs $39 per month and as compact as it is, one could always park it in front a television set. The 25 levels of magnetic resistance are key to the workout, and for those interested in that, it’s a solid buy.

The Bottom Line

The ProForm Pro C10U is most definitely worth a look for $699, as it comes in well below many peers without sacrificing machine quality. All you’re really missing here is the big screen and other fancy add-ons like heart rate monitors. We have to assume shoppers looking in the under-$600 market aren’t interested in those features anyway, and the fact is ProForm makes good machines. With a solid warranty and maximum user weight, you can be confident this bike is a good budget buy. The only complaint, which is becoming more common with all bikes, is the screen won’t work with apps other than iFit. That said, a bike this size can easily be placed in front of a television set or one could simply where headphones.
