In Brief

I’ll be frank, the primary reason you’d buy a NordicTrack Tour De France Bike is you’re a die-hard racing fan. It’s pricey, but yes, it’s a dream bike. Designed to give you a racing experience, this bike looks a lot like the NordicTrack X24 Bike, but with a different resistance system and handlebar adjustment controls. This bike, like the rest of the NordicTrack lineup, sports a massive 24″ high-definition touchscreen designed to work with the iFIT workout program. You can use the machine in a manual mode if you opt out of the program, but frankly, given the $2,999 price I’d say if you don’t want iFIT, keep shopping. This bike is clearly priced and designed for people who want immersed in the racing experience, and it does do that for sure.

Since the bike is iFIT-enabled, this means you can utilize the program’s automatic trainer control and 10,000+ workout video library to your heart’s content, for a price of $39 per month. No worries if you drop out, the bike still works in manual mode, but you will lose some features. In the case of the NordicTrack Tour De France Bike though, I’d say the unit just isn’t the same without the automatic trainer control and on-demand racing videos. If you do keep the iFIT program going though, it does include Spotify, Netflix, and Amazon Prime. It also includes connectivity with Strava, Garmin Connect, Google Fit, and Apple Health.

The bike comes with custom gear sets that match up with your racing bike, which makes it unique among studio bikes. Also, the integrated digitial handlebar shifters give you the real feel of racing, along with an AutoBreeze fan which automatically changes intensity to match the workout. This bike also brings a 20% incline and -10% decline to give you the real feel of mountain biking, rock and roll and all. The bike is Bluetooth headphone and heart rate monitor compatible with two 2″ speakers, and flat pedals for easy replacement.

Measuring 56.43″ x 65.12″ x 21.77″ with an in-box weight of 205 pounds and user capacity of 350 pounds, the bike has a somewhat disappointing warranty with five years for the frame, and two years for parts and labor.

The big difference here is the type of instruction available with your $39 monthly iFIT membership. With ProForm, your iFIT videos offer global workouts in beautiful locations, Google Maps rides where you virtually bike outside, a larger variety of personal trainers, and lots of other personal training related tips and tricks. It’s also more interactive because iFIT instructors can control your resistance and incline during workouts where Peloton workouts require you to adjust your resistance manually. During iFIT workouts, your trainer automatically adjusts your machine to match their instructions, fully immersing you in the class. The iFIT program provides exercise guidance in areas outside the cycling arena from resistance training and kickboxing to meditation and more.

Standard warranty coverage for the NordicTrack Tour De France Bike includes 5 years of coverage for the frame, 2 years for parts and labor.

Who Should Use The NordicTrack Tour De France Bike?

The NordicTrack Tour De France Bike is the perfect unit for a racing fan who doesn’t mind the money. Priced at $2,999 you might as well figure on another $39 per month for the iFIT. That said, it’s unique custom gear sets and integrated shifters are unlike the other studio bikes on the market, so it’s worth it if you want it. I wouldn’t recommend this bike for someone who’s budget conscious, but rather someone who plans to train indoors for outdoor racing.

It’s also designed for people who love large screens. This 24″ high-definition touchscreen is huge. There’s good and bad with that, depending on your perspective. This is for people who want immersive workouts, both sight and sound. Also, it’s designed for people who like the automatic trainer control style of workouts offered by iFIT.

Bottom Line

This bike is either for you or not. If you’re a big racing fan, you won’t find another like it on the market. Tricked out the max, it’s a top-flight bike. At $2,999, it is what is, high-quality and high in features.
