In Brief
When I’m looking at budget-friendly spin bikes for the home, the NordicTrack S24 Studio Bike comes in right next to the ProForm Pro 10 Studio Bike reviewed here, and the original Peloton Bike, here. These are the $1,299 to $1,799 bikes with streaming programs and live workouts, automatic trainer control, and nice-size touchscreens. There are some slight variations between these three bikes, but frankly, depending on the day and the pricing special, they’re all very similar.
As with all NordicTrack products, the S24 Studio Bike is iFIT-enabled, which means you can utilize the program’s automatic trainer control and 10,000+ workout video library to your heart’s content, for a price of $39 per month. It’s not a problem if you opt out, the bike does work in manual mode, but you will lose some features. In the case of the NordicTrack S24 Studio Bike though, keep in mind this is a studio bike designed for spin classes. So, if you’re not into the iFIT programming, then you’ll want to have a smart television with which you can interact. If you do keep the iFIT program going though, it does include Spotify, Netflix, and Amazon Prime. It also includes connectivity with Strava, Garmin Connect, Google Fit, and Apple Health.
Built with a 24-inch high-definition touchscreen, the bike comes with 24 levels of Silent Magnetic Resistance (SMR) and a 32-pound flywheel. Measuring 56.4″ x 21.8″ x 62.7″ at a bike weight of 205 pounds, the unit can hold up to 350 pounds. It does sport a USB-C charging port, Bluetooth headphone connectivity, and two 2″ premium speakers.
This is a good mid-size studio bike with a lifetime-year frame warranty, two years for parts, one year for the tablet and labor.
Priced at $1,799 with regular discounts and free shipping, the NordicTrack S24 Studio Bike is a great buy and very comparable to the Peloton Bike. The unit measures a mid-sized 56.4″ x 21.8″ x 62.7″ and weighs 350 pounds. So, just to give you a comparison here, the Peloton Bike+ sports a massive 23.8″ high-definition touchscreen and measures a slightly larger 59″ x 22″ x 59″ and 26 levels of SMR. Its price is $1,445 with a $44 per month app fee. So, it’s close.

The big difference here is the type of instruction available with your $39 monthly iFIT membership. With NordicTrack, your iFIT videos come with automatic trainer control which adjusts the bike’s speed and resistance. iFIT also includes many other benefits such as global workouts in beautiful locations, Google Maps rides where you virtually bike outside, a larger variety of personal trainers, and lots of other personal training related tips and tricks.
Who Should Use The NordicTrack S24 Studio Bike?
The NordicTrack S24 Studio Bike is a great workout machine with some cool pricing specials. It’s clearly designed for folks who want a large, 24″ high-definition touchscreen and interactive programing via iFIT. If you’re not into streaming training, then this isn’t for you. The value of 24 levels of Silent Magnetic Resistance (SMR) is very high. No one will outgrow this bike in terms of workouts. Given the price, I’d say this belongs in the home gym of someone serious about cycling but not interested in paying any more than they have to.
Bottom Line

This is a bike for spin enthusiasts with a passion for interactive programming. The iFIT workout program offers some of the highest levels of quality you’ll find. I’m not sure there’s much more you could want with a spin bike, but for those with a serious need for additives, you could always check out the NordicTrack X24 Bike here, which brings both incline and decline to the game. But that’s nearly double the price.
